N/Y Northwind · Observation Lounge

Overview

Twenty-two metres above the waterline, the Northwind observation lounge is a 360-degree instrument for watching the planet: fjords, atolls, ice — with a telescope library and a chart table at its centre.

Design & craftsmanship

Heated glass, anti-glare coatings and a periscope-grade compass rose inlaid in the floor keep the room usable from the tropics to Svalbard.

The commission was developed with Nordvik Yachts, from first sketch through engineering, fairing reviews and delivery detailing — the same hands-on design authority we bring to every Sternwake project.
